Police say a man who broke into the British pub where he used to work in Texas had to be rescued when he got stuck in a grease vent.
Firefighters were able to free the 43-year-old man from the grease vent at the Red Lion Pub in Houston after he broke into the restaurant through the roof on Sept. 7, Houston police told USA TODAY on Friday.
It's unclear how long the man was stuck, but it was apparently for some time as he didn't get help until employees arrived to open the pub and found him "anchoring" from the ceiling, police said.
Police took the man into custody and booked him on a burglary charge. He remains jailed and his arraignment is set for Oct. 30. His bond is set at $15,000, according to jail records.
Man was former employee of Red Lion Pub
The pub told authorities the man used to work there but had been fired.
Red Lion Pub declined to comment on the break-in when contacted by USA TODAY on Friday.
